Prep Time: approx. 10 minutes
Ingredients:
- White Rum
- Fresh mint
- Lime
- Sugar (or simple syrup)
- Club Soda (or sparkling water)
- Ice
To make this refreshing, summertime drink you’ll need a muddler to crush fresh mint and release its intoxicating aroma. But fortunately, if you’re missing a muddler, you can also use the end of a wooden spoon to improvise.
Start by placing 3-4 mint leaves and a wedge of lime into a sturdy glass and use your muddler or the end of a wooden spoon to gently crush them up to release your mint’s fragrant oils.
Add sugar for an authentic mojito recipe that adds some texture to your drink, or simple sugar if you want something that mixes more easily.
Now, add your white rum and ice, and shake vigorously to mix up the flavors for this summertime concoction.
Top off your drink with club soda, give it a little stir, and taste to make sure it is to your liking. Add additional sugar if you'd like, and garnish with fresh mint and lime for the perfect presentation. Now, get ready to enjoy the simple joy of a summertime mojito.
